I like beer. I started brewing in 2009 and am working my way through a list of brews I'm keen on trying.

cider from fresh apple juice, how to? I've done it both ways without a problem, but you're probably right about risking contamination. |

Temperature correction for specific gravity I'm not sure if it's implemented on all of the StackExchange sites, but I believe at least the math ones support TeX or LaTeX markup: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LaTeX |

Is it possible to make a beer worthy of a competition with malt extract? @brewchez I completely agree. |

Hop Analysis for Home Brewers - Interest Poll There's one vote to close as "not a real question". I think there's obviously an implied questions here (beyond the let me know what you think bit), but I'd recommend editing this to include a specific call-to-action at the end. Maybe something along the lines of: Is anyone else interested in having their hops' IBU levels analyzed? |

Good food-grade electric pump for transferring wort? I suppose, though I'm apparently unable to rescind a vote to close. I assumed you were making syrup and the quantities you describe certainly sounded beyond typical "home" brewing. |

What do you do with the vodka from your ferm locks? Yeah, if the thought of waste is a concern I think you need to find cheaper vodka. |

Propane v. Natural Gas @Room3 not to mention most folks have the option of piping natural gas in. Propane generally requires either swapping out 20# tanks at the gas station of having someone fill a large on-site tank. |

Maintaining Lagering Temperatures As a follow up, I've kept my lager in the garage here in Madison, WI for the last month (January) inside of a large foam container a bigger carboy had been in, both to keep light off the beer and to provide a thermal buffer against the cold when the garage door is opened and I've had good luck with the temperature generally hovering just above freezing. The lowest reading I've seen was 30F and the highest was 36F. Hopefully that's worked OK for this beer. |

How to treat Brettanomyces for secondary fermentation? putting aside my general dislike of most sour beers, the potential to introduce the bacteria into later beers is an excellent point I had never considered, thanks. |

Carbonation Drops vs. Sugar? Mike, are you adding the sugar to the beer directly, or are you first dissolving it in a small amount of water? I dissolve (and boil for sanitation purposes) in water first and find that it integrates into the beer with very moderate stirring. |
