The isinglass in my wine kit is cloudy. Has it gone bad? Just fine thanks, it is a Pinot Grigio. |

The isinglass in my wine kit is cloudy. Has it gone bad? Yes, it was liquid isinglass. The kit was older (8 months from manufacture date) but well with in the acceptable limits. I ended up not using the isinglass because I was unsure and it is relatively inexpensive. Thanks! |

[Wiki] What extra equipment do I need to make wine? Most wine kits are 6 gallons and beer kits are 5 gallons. I suppose that was the reason the brew shop owner suggested a new carboy. Also, for a primary fermenter, if it is plastic, the wine can taint the plastic and then give you off flavours in your next beer brewing. But if the primary is glass then this is less of a concern. |
