Alternatives to a hydrometer? In this case I'd say this is a valid answer. Hydrometers are fragile, but it sounds like the OP could stand to make sure he's using it correctly. Perhaps this answer could reiterate the correct procedure for using a hydrometer. |

Liquid malt extract storage so what about canning it (in glass)? Sterilize the cans, fill them full, and seal them just like any other preserve. |

Ginger Beer recipe Thanks! I'm trying to keep my GAS (gear-acquisition-syndrome) from landing me with a kegging kit just yet, but I think I've got some friends with the SodaStream system--might have to test this recipe with their machine to see about force-carbonating without bottle-bombs. |
