Is Videne effective as a non-rinse santizer? A quick search for 1-Step (or One-Step) doesn't seem to yield results in the UK |

Need a simple extract IPA recipe Hopville realy helped. Based off your recipe, I scaled it down to a small batch and ultra-simplified it to an all DME recipe hopville.com/recipe/1677924 . I probably won't bother with that one, but will start with version 2 hopville.com/recipe/1677924 . I've been reading a bit of sugar helps dry it out a little and I like the look of that little extra bump of ABV |

Need a simple extract IPA recipe Thanks, that is a great help. Could you explain what the crystal malt brings to the beer? |

Need a simple extract IPA recipe Would be very helpful if hops were available from my LHBS brewstore.co.uk/hops-132-c.asp |

Why is our Original Gravity low? I think this explains the same issue I just had trying my first kit. The kit suggested the OG was going to be 1.042 for a 23 litre batch, but I was getting 1.034 with only 20 litres (so was actually hoping it to be little higher than the 1.042). I didn't want to mess around too much with my wort, so I just pitched the yeast and left it for a few hours. Just gone back and given it a stir and took another reading and got 1.038. I suspect I have some thick liquid stuck to the bottom or maybe I didn't dissolve all the granulated sugar. |

Quality difference between LME and DME To avoid steaming your pack, best to transfer to your measured DME to a bowl. Can then dunk into the water to dissolve off any stuck bits |

Is there a way to protect beer from freezing in a garage with no electricity It would be interesting to know how long a fridge full of 20°C beer could stay above freezing with a single hot water bottle in there to give it a little extra heat. |

Are plastic fizzy-drink bottles an acceptable substitute for glass bottles? In the UK ginger beer often be found in 2 litre brown plastic bottles. |
