As an Italian, hot pepper eating, bourbon loving, home brewing husband, geek, and father living between levels 2 and 7, I'm an ENTJ, with a craving to learn without being '.EDUcated'.
TL;DR: IT guy to the everyman, I'm just this guy, you know?

How foolish is it to try to make up for my tripel's shortish secondary by bottle conditioning it longer? I came to this conclusion while halfway through writing the question. I guess I was trying to avoid it since I otherwise so rarely use the 3G, it seems a waste to have two. On the other hand, smaller batches do lend themselves to experimentation... |

How foolish is it to try to make up for my tripel's shortish secondary by bottle conditioning it longer? That's exactly what I did with this one, but now I'm trying to determine if this one will be ready for bottling and consequently whether or not the 3G carboy will be free for the next brew, since we tend to use a secondary for just about everything (which is a completely different discussion, I know). |

How To Send Beer Cross Country? @HenryJackson I believe that was reference to Section 405 of Senate Bill 1789 which would change that. |

Hydrometer Calibration and its effect on OG Honestly, I was thinking that reading above vs below the meniscus would produce a bigger change than the calibration temp anyway, but point taken. |

Using Pyrex Graham condenser as counterflow chiller? @paul Thanks. It is borosilicate, (as is all pyrex LABware to my knowledge) which is what gave me this idea in the first place, but after mulling it over for a bit, I'm starting to think maybe I should just put all my glassware up on eBay and buy a metal chiller, if only for peace of mind. |
