I have been brewing since 2009, with every attempt to expand and improve since. Also helped found a Milwaukee, WI based brew club, Brewathon, in 2011.
Always Brewing.

How can I tell there is mold in my bottles? @baka The brush serves the same purpose as your PBW. PBW is useful for removing stuck on soils which are not reachable by a brush. Hardly worth the down vote. |

Harvested Yeast - What are these layers and do I have too much? Thanks for the clarification on the layers and info on pitching rates. I am just now entering the "getting into yeast" phase of my home brewing life cycle, so this is very good info for where I am at and where I'm looking to go. |

Racking a carbonated beer from a keg back to the fermenter Agreed, just make another beer. If you can't muster drinking it, donate the current to a charity or homeless shelter. |

Is there any danger in fermenting outside? If the question was instead "Is fermenting outside a bad idea?", the answer would be YES. |

Using Pyrex Graham condenser as counterflow chiller? +1 I agree that this should work, but also my only question would be how it would hold up to wear. But I guess, if it's made for hot chemicals in chemistry, where should there be the harm? |

Do I need to adjust for temperature with a refractometer? I would second always letting the sample cool on the refractometer for a few minutes before reading, I've been burned by this before. |
