Measuring yeast activity by collecting CO2 Yes it is hard to read the hydrometer when there is a lot of krausen. But usually, you don't need to read it in this situation, because you know that your beer is still fermenting. The most important readings are at the start and at the end, when there is no krausen. |

Gas line : does it need to be sterilized? Thank you! Just to be sure, you are talking about the tube and the connector? I guess there is no possibility for bacterias to grow if there is no oxygen and only CO2. But if you disconnect the gas line for a long time, would you sterelize it then? |
