comment carbonating using a soda stream
I've done it with alcoholic drinks (carbonated margaritas are great), but not beer. Be very careful removing, there could be lots of foam.

comment Salvaging this Sorachi Ace IPA
I've had a Sorachi Ace single hop pale ale, not my cup of pickle juice. Some people seem to like it.

A good source about hops (for future reference): hopunion.com/hop-varieties

comment So I want to make a summer shandy, can I just put fruit in the second fermentation stage instead of juice?
@Paul that's the UK, I'll worry about that if I ever go there. Same as I'll worry about what their IPA's are like compared to the west coast versions if I ever go there.

A shandy can be beer mixed with almost any soft drink.

comment barley content in whisky from barley grains
Part of the starch from the grains will be converted to sugar, but this isn't the grain dissolving

comment How do I use freeze distillation to turn cider into applejack?
Water freezes at a higher temperature then alcohol so no idea why yo would discard the liquid.

Probably not, was hoping there was someone here that had done some research into such an area and could weigh in on the subject

comment Question about a Hop Chart
I have lab data and was comparing it to the chart. The bottom chart was pretty accurate, low end was off on one scale and I'm guessing the creator did that to keep it pretty. The top one was where my questions were at (oil breakdown). Again goign by the lab data I have available the numbers are way off if going by %, not even close. However if the creator used the wrong units I could see how things would work out. Even with the units being wrong the ratio between oils seems correct

comment Is there such a thing as malt-free beer?
Because "Malt" can refer to several different grains with the main ingredient tendig to be gluten.

comment Question about a Hop Chart
Yes I know that, and I have listing for various hops types and the percentage % of the different types of oil out of the total oil. The numbers I have from a Hop Union booklet don't match the percentages given in the above chart. I think the author meant to use a scale of ml/100 Grams and not % for the types of oils, and just trying to confirm this. Since the author hasn't gotten back to me I was curious if anyone here had tried to verify the chart since it has been around for a couple of years and if they had how they made the part of the chart for Myercene, etc. work.
