comment First time brewing lager, no fermentation
Relax and have a home brew. But I suppose I should have specified that of course it matters what yeast you are using. I have done this successful with Oktoberfest, SF Lager, and Cry Havoc. I haven't tried it with a lower temp lager yeast. whitelabs.com/beer/homebrew/listings?style=4

comment What can I do with my spent grain after mashing?
I've put an ad up on my local homebrew facebook page and had homebrewers with chickens come get batch after batch of spent grain. Way better ecological use than composting.

I've made muffins and cookies out of spent grain. Unless you are desperate to make it into something, don't bother.

comment Improving Your Brewing Significantly
IMO, this question should be separated by extract vs all-grain brewing. Yeah, there is some overlap (fermentation, yeast, chilling) but there is a lot of non-overlap...

comment Flat beer. Not enough priming sugar?
Priming is best done by weight. What are those volumes of? Presumably water with corn sugar dissolved? What concentration? Additionally, you don't specify the time you allowed for bottle conditioning and the temperature of the bottles during conditioning?

Mdma, I'm a little confused. If torque is force x displacement vector, don't we need to consider the radius of the object, not just the number of rotations per second?

Brewchez, I haven't found the Barley Crusher people to be very responsive to previous questions. And as mdma says, I may not have posed a question with an especially definitive answer.
