comment Has anyone ever tried soaking grains in bourbon instead of water before smoking malt? Any advice is appreciated too
If you are hot smoking, I would be really careful not to have any kind of fire/spark because the vapors would be highly flammable. A lot of surface area means a lot of vapors. I do a lot of crazy things, but I'm not sure I'd hot smoke bourbon soaked grain.

comment What is the overall volume of a Corny keg?
In order to answer this, someone could weigh an empty Corny keg, weigh it again with, say, exactly five gallons of water, and weigh it again with the keg full to the brim.

comment Why is less bottling sugar required when naturally carbonating in a keg versus bottles?
By weighing net contents of a "full to the brim" 12 oz bottle (381g) vs a normal fill on a 12 oz bottle (358g), I got 6% headspace. Doing some rough calculations on corny kegs, I got 5% headspace.
