comment Is it possible to boil wort too quickly?
I heard a interesting story that an electric element boil was imparting 20+ SRM to the color of a notable ruby brown ale due to caramelization. A vigorous boil is important and if you can get their without imparting color or flavor changes and no scorching of the kettle, getting there quickly is ok. fwiw I have used those burners without incident to the final product as long as I was not adding ingredients that could stick to the bottom and burn.

What is your starting point? Off the sparge (170f/76c)? From tap to boil then adding extract?

I heat in the fridge because I may be running two different brews and fermentation schedules or in the winter, too cold :) Will change the link.

Could you post the recipe (specific grains, yeasts, hops) and any measurements (times, temps, gravity, etc)?
